Our spring performances will include a variety of musical styles with something for everyone.

Classical music lovers will enjoy excerpts from Carl Orff's bold and thrilling work, Carmina Burana, which many will recognize from feature films and television programs spanning the last thirty years. Listeners will also enjoy the concert band classic, Lincolnshire Posy, by Percy Grainger, a distillation of folk tunes collected in England in the early 20th century.

We will also feature a virtuoso solo by our first chair clarinetist Frank DiBari, performing the whimsical “Viktor’s Tale” from the movie The Terminal, and two jazz standards, “That’s Life!” and “The Way You Look Tonight,” performed by vocalist John Ferrulli.

Several contemporary pieces include Amy Webb’s Beyond!, celebrating the space explorations of the 1960s, Liquid, by Jay Bocook, a rhythmical piece which evokes the sound of water with some unusual percussion instruments, and Flash!, by Brian Beck, a lively and accessible work sure to please listeners of all ages.

Finally, The Mad Major March, by Kenneth J. Alford, and Celtic-inspired music from the motion picture How to Train Your Dragon will provide you with melodies to hum on your way home.
